Settling In

We know that starting nursery is a big transition. That’s why we offer a gentle settling-in period, where you and your child can spend time with us together before moving towards short independent sessions. Your child will be introduced gradually to their Key Person, who provides a secure base for building trust, confidence, and routine.

Key Person Approach

Each child is assigned a dedicated Key Person. This member of staff will:

  • Build a strong bond with your child
  • Understand their individual needs, likes, and interests
  • Share regular updates and progress with you
  • Ensure a smooth handover at drop-off and pick-up.

This approach helps children feel secure while supporting their learning and development.

Learning & Development

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, focusing on learning through play, exploration, and creativity. We balance indoor and outdoor learning, with access to our large private garden and soft play studio. Our curriculum covers:

Communication and language
Encouraging children to listen, talk, and express themselves with confidence.
Physical development
Supporting active, healthy growth through movement, play, and coordination.
Personal, social, and emotional growth
Building friendships, resilience, and a strong sense of self.
Expressive arts and design

Sparking creativity through art, music, role play, and imagination.

Understanding the world
Inspiring curiosity about nature, people, and the wider community.
Literacy, maths, and early problem-solving
Developing essential skills through stories, numbers, and playful challenges.

Meals & Nutrition

Healthy eating is a core part of our day. We provide:

  • Nutritious snacks and drinks.
  • Hot, balanced meals prepared with children’s needs in mind
  • Options for allergies, dietary, and cultural requirements

Menus are shared with parents, and we encourage healthy food habits from an early age.

Partnerships Built on Trust

We value open, ongoing communication. Parents are kept up to date through:

  • Daily handovers at drop-off and pick-up.
  • A secure online platform (where available) for updates, photos, and observations.
  • Regular parent meetings and progress reports
  • Newsletters and noticeboards for upcoming events

We also welcome feedback and conversations at any time.

Your child’s safety and wellbeing are our top priorities. All staff are fully trained in:

  • Safeguarding and child protection.
  • First Aid and health & safety.
  • Behaviour management and emotional wellbeing

Our nursery is a secure, welcoming space where children can thrive.

We see parents as partners. You know your child best, and together we can create the strongest foundation for their future. We encourage parents to:

  • Share information about their child’s interests and needsJoin in with .
  • nursery events and activities.
  • Speak openly with staff about any questions or concerns
